TRaCE was pleased to present at the recent Central‑West Orana (CWO) Business Briefings, held in Mudgee on 24 March and Dubbo on 25 March, alongside industry, government and business leaders from across the region.

The briefings, delivered by Regional Economic Development (RED), brought together local businesses and project stakeholders to explore the significant pipeline of renewable energy, infrastructure and government-led projects planned for the Central‑West Orana.

Paul Scobie, TRaCE Business Development Manager, and Dave Mitchell, TRaCE Translation Manager, presented at both events, providing an update on TRaCE’s current activities, how TRaCE aligns with the Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER), and highlighting projects relevant to Central‑West Orana communities and industries.

A key message from TRaCE’s presentation was the scale and pace of development occurring across the region, and the importance of research translation, capability building and collaboration to ensure local businesses and communities can meaningfully participate in emerging opportunities.

Across both events, discussions reinforced that major projects will have long‑term implications for councils, workforce development and regional supply chains that extend well beyond construction into operations, maintenance and innovation.

TRaCE welcomed the opportunity to connect with regional businesses and stakeholders and looks forward to continuing its role in supporting industry‑led solutions that deliver economic and community benefits across the Central‑West Orana.
