The TRaCE Higher Degree Researchers (HDR) program will place PhDs and Master’s students into industry-led and co-funded research projects at UNSW and University of Newcastle, to co-design and develop technologies that are fit for commercial purpose and market ready.
The program aims to foster a new generation of researchers with support, motivation and a multidisciplinary context to explore industry challenges and build the critical skills within both academia and industry to propel clean energy industries into the future.
Projects undertaken through the TRaCE HDR Program will be developed in collaboration with new and existing industry partners, providing important access to and the opportunity to work alongside the next generation of leaders working to solve challenges affecting national priorities.
PhDs or Master’s students will be carefully selected and matched with relevant research projects to ensure their area of expertise and focus is closely aligned with the industry partner’s requirements.
Candidates will undertake a placement of 60 days FTE (for PhDs) and 30 days FTE (for Masters) with the industry partner throughout the duration of candidature and will also receive tailored training opportunities as part of their HDR experience.
